Something About Us

Mercado California is a hispanic supermarket in south San Jose, CA. It is part of the Ramon Luna & Co., a California corporation, which is run by President (Ramon Luna), and Vice President (Erasmo Zuniga).

The corporation started as La Costeña in 1983 and expanded to include Burrito Real restaurant in Mountain View CA. in 1995, California Street Market in 1998, Burrito Real Campbell 1999, Mercado California San Jose 2001 and Mercado California Hayward 2018.

Carniceria

Our full-service meat counter offers a selection of fresh hand cut meats including, fresh beef, chicken, pork and goat, as well as an array of seafood. We have a well experienced staff to help you in all your personal cooking needs or to answer any questions you may have about our meat selections

Apart from carrying the name brands you would expect at any neighborhood grocery store, We also offers hard to find brands imported from Mexico, Central and South America such as jalapeños, salsas, rice, beans, soft drinks, and many other grocery items needed to prepare traditional homemade meals.

You’ll always find the freshest fruits & vegetables in our Produce department at everyday competitive prices. In addition to fresh produce we also carry a wide variety of packaged and bulk dried chiles, a necessity for any made from scratch mole or salsa.

For your convenience we offer check cashing at a reasonable rate as well as wire transfer services. Through our financial service department, you will be able to send or receive almost anywhere in the world. Other services include money orders, bill payment, and electronic phone top-ups.
